I/O interface-related FAQs

The S/PDIF output provides multi-channel audio as a digital signal (via optical or electrical interface). Present Shuttle products don't have an S/PDIF output anymore, since they provide digital audio via onboard video outputs (HDMI or DisplayPort). The advantage of this solution is that only one cable for transferring video and audio signals is required. If you need an S/PDIF output, you may use an affordable HDMI-to-S/PDIF converter that extracts the digital audio signal from the HDMI stream, while still the HDMI video signal can be used.
