Shuttle XPC products of the DH6xx/XH61x series support Intel Core processors of the 13th generation “Raptor Lake-S” starting with a certain firmware/BIOS version, which has been available since March 2023. During the transition phase Shuttle XPCs still come with an older firmware/BIOS version and must first be updated with the help of a Gen 12 processor “Alder Lake-S”.

All Shuttle PC products with socket LGA 1151v2 are prepared to support the 9th generation Intel Core processors, also called “Coffee Lake Refresh”, which Intel released in Q4 2018. However, some steps need to be done before the PC can boot with this kind of processors.

  1. Please enter the BIOS setup program to check your current BIOS version.
  2. If the BIOS needs to be updated, please download the latest BIOS file from https://global.shuttle.com/support/download.
  3. The BIOS Update must be done with a compatible 8th generation Intel Core processor (“Coffee Lake”).

Since the introduction of Intel's 9th generation processor family (Coffee Lake Refresh), some of the new 9th-gen processor models no longer have integrated graphics, namely the “F” models like, for example, the i5-9400F. To operate a system with these processor models, a discrete graphics card is required. These processor models are compatible to Shuttle XPC cube series with a free PCIe-x16 slot only. The Shuttle XPC slim series which uses integrated Intel CPU graphics, won't be able to run those processor models.

This information can also be found on the packaging of an Intel boxed processor:

All Shuttle PC products with socket LGA 1151 are prepared to support the 7th generation Intel Core processors with 14 nm technology, also called “Kaby Lake”, which Intel released in Q1 2017. However, some steps need to be done before the PC can boot with this kind of processors.

  1. Please enter the BIOS setup program to check your current BIOS version.
  2. If the BIOS needs to be updated, then please download the latest BIOS driver from https://global.shuttle.com/support/download. The BIOS Update need to be done with a compatible 6nd generation Intel Core processor (14 nm technology, LGA 1151 socket, called “Skylake”).
